Nike developed Guided Recovery due to the need for greater support for sufferers of Eating Disorders. She wanted to develop a support programme that stepped outside of the consulting rooms and treatment centres and focused on guiding clients throughout their day to day lives whilst managing an Eating Disorder.
She is highly trained in working with individuals with Eating Disorder and has worked in some of the leading Eating Disorder facilities in the UK including the South London and Maudsley NHS, Bethlem Royal Hospital, Priory Group, Lifeworks & Gladstones Clinic. She has also worked at the world renowned Eating Disorder facility, Montrose Manor, Cape Town, South Africa.
She holds a BSc Psychology from University of Westminster and MSc Mental Health Studies from Queen Mary, University of London.
Her research has focused on The Relationship Between Body Image Dissatisfaction and Eating Behaviours Amongst Mothers and Their Pre-Adolescent Children and The Effectiveness of Body Image Exposure Treatment in Eating Disorder.
All the work at Guided Recovery is undertaken by our team of highly trained Eating Disorder Coaches who have all worked in some of the UK leading Eating Disorder facilities, all of which are DBS checked.
We carefully match our clients to their Guided Coach and value that they not only understand recovery but understand the lifestyle and needs of our clients individually. All of our Guided Coaches are either in long-term personal recovery or are highly trained in treating mental health. We have also handpicked several coaches who have a background as therapists, dietitians, chefs, personal trainers.
